The Freedom of Association

Within our Rights

 

 In Costa Rica, every citizen has the freedom of association, the freedom of expression, the freedom to pursue a common goal, the freedom to petition, and the freedom of information.

 Let it be known that the UCCR indeed responded to the plea by scores of investors who were recruited to file claims against Enrique Villalobos with deceptive practices by a certain attorney, and we will continue to help investors who seek our advice and assistance in the future.

 Let it be known that we have publicly offered information to those investors and others who filed or were solicited to file legal actions against Osvaldo or Enrique Villalobos Camacho; that we have assisted them when they have requested our guidance in their pursuit to withdraw their accusation; and that we have directed them to the proper locations and persons who could assist them in that endeavor.

 Let it be known that the UCCR continues to encourage the withdrawal of what we consider to be baseless accusations of fraud against Osvaldo or Enrique Villalobos Camacho.  We continue to challenge any investor to produce any evidence of fraudulent actions by Enrique Villalobos prior to the seizure of his bank accounts and assets, or show proof that the payment of interest or principal on a timely basis in accordance with the established procedures Luis Enrique personally made with all his creditors-investors, was denied to them prior to the government actions carried out as part of an incompetent government investigation.

 We are not afraid because we have nothing to fear.

 We have always acted within the law, and still to the fullest extent of our rights as free individuals, joined together in the pursuit of a common goal.

 The UCCR will continue to pursue our goals and objectives, and we will not be intimidated by the actions of anyone. 

 

WE BELIEVE...

 We believe that both Luis Enrique and Osvaldo Villalobos Camacho are men of high personal and professional ethical standards.

 We believe the suspicions that existed on July 4, 2002 about don Enrique's business practices and of the more than 6,000 families who entrusted him with their life savings, were baseless and untrue then, and remain untrue today.

 We believe that don Enrique's business operations were sound and prosperous on July 4, 2002.  Any allegations of fraud or default are a direct result of actions taken by the Poder Judicial of Costa Rica.  We know that many of those who filed charges against the Villalobos did so during uncertain times and believed it was their only recourse.

 We believe that the accusations made by the Poder Judicial of Costa Rica against Osvaldo and Luis Enrique Villalobos Camacho are false and will be defeated in the courtroom

 We are fully confident of Luis Enrique's desire and intention to honor his obligations once the obstacles to his personal and professional freedom are removed.
