Slow start of trial expected

Tomorrow, the trial begins.

The process will be slow and methodical.  Best estimates predict a duration of three to four months, the longest comes in at six or seven.  Regardless of its duration, we will do our best to keep you informed with the truth.

Be prepared: there will be a lot of misinformation out there.  The responsible media should of course report the truth, but as we know by experience, sometimes the media repeats rumors as fact, accepts unproven accusations as truth, or worse.  Among reporters, ignorance of the law as it specifically applies in this case continues to be a problem in accurate reporting, and so we hope that the trial itself will shed a light of understanding.  The internet media, on the other hand, can be expected to continue to serve its own purpose, regardless of the truth.  Whether to inflame, to distract, to deceive, to destroy... out of envy, or jealousy, or greed, or just plain closed-minded stubborness.  Nothing should surprise us, we should expect it all.

One exception: we should not expect fireworks on the first day, except perhaps by the media itself.  Cameras and reporters will most likely outnumber lawyers and litigants.  Actual courtroom events will prove to be less than exciting at first, with motions and points of order to establish sequence and procedure for the rest of the trial.  As days become weeks, however, and the attention subsides, the real battle will take place in the courtroom, and UCCR will be there for you.

We encourage you to follow the progress of the trial through our reports.  If you wish to attend, we suggest that you wait a few days, perhaps a week or more, until after the initial clamor subsides.  The trial might be more interesting then, and the cameras will have found something else to photograph.

So, here we go.  Expect the first report Monday evening, and thereafter as events warrant, although we will try to get something out to you each day.  During the trial, our mailing list will serve to provide each of you with factual information we can only trust from each other.  But after the trial's conclusion, our ability to contact you will become even more important.  Encourage all investors to register their contact information with us and to add their email address to our EBS mailing list.

To truth and law.

We thank you.
