We are
almost at the end of our ordeal. Only 3
months to go until the trial. Nothing much
left to do but count the days until February
5th, at 8 am in the courtroom of the OIJ
building in downtown San Jose. We will have
a board member attending the proceedings.
We are still working to convince those who
filed against the Brothers to cancel their
claims, which are not only an impediment,
but are unnecessary. They will get their
money back, as we all will; and sooner, if
we can convince more filers to drop their
claims. We are trying to reach all of
them, but in many cases we do not have
sufficient information to make contact. If
you know of anyone who filed a claim,
please send us any contact information you
may have.
If you know investors who have not yet
joined the UCCR, please urge them to do so,
as we are preparing a list with up-to-date
information so that we can keep everyone
informed on a daily basis as we monitor the
trial. It is reasonable to assume that the
judicial decision with respect to Osvaldo
will also apply to his brother, Luis Enrique
Villalobos. The most critical result for us
will be the dismissal of the money
laundering charge, and to the best of our
knowledge, despite four years of digging,
nothing of substance has been presented to
support this malicious allegation.
Once this charge is dropped, those asking
for their money will start to get
reimbursed. I expect that many of us will
want to leave a portion of our funds
invested with Enrique if we could encourage
him to resume activities, probably under
different conditions and in a different
country. Once that can be arranged, it
should not take long to start receiving
interest payments again... badly needed by
many of us.
Many investors have asked for information on
Savings Unlimited. That was a very
different matter, as Luis Milanes closed his
office and fled, with no communication or
intention to ever come back or return the
investments. Those involved have to
organize and take action, because the
casinos and hotels are still functioning as
if nothing ever happened, only under
different names. If you had an investment
with Savings Unlimited, please send an
email to the following address:
uccrreply@yahoo.com.
We will pass on the information to a group
interested in taking action. Please note
that the UCCR is not associated with this,
or any other group. We are only assisting
our readers to make contact.
UCCR board members can be proud of having
endured all these years, for no financial
gains of any kind and despite taunts and
insults from critics and detractors, never
doubting that we would win in the end, and
that our trust in Luis Enrique would prove
to be fully justified. We also thank Jose
Miguel Villalobos, who stands at our side,
even though the terms of our contract with
him were never quite fulfilled.
We are counting the days along with you
until February 5, 2007.
