FROM LUIS ENRIQUE VILLALOBOS TO
HIS CREDITORS
A few days ago Judge Castrillo of the
intermediate phase sent notification to
the lawyers that defend our cause of the
decree for the opening of trial, a
resolution in which he also addresses
the actions and civil complaints that
some creditors who have not believed in
my word, presented against us. I had
hoped that justice would have started to
be carried out, and that the offenses as
charged would not be brought to trial,
for I maintain that we are innocent and
that this whole process is a
cock-and-bull story, based on wretched
interests that one day will come to
public light.
We shall go to trial with our heads held
high, confident that in court the truth
will come out, that today for various
reasons, some have been able to conceal
at the expense of irreparable damage to
my creditors, their families, my
brother, and to me, and our own
families.
Today I have to repeat once again, that
my word remains firm concerning my
desire to return to my creditors the
money they lent me, and additionally, I
would like to say many things, but due
to the proximity of the trial it is
prudent to save them for the end when
justice and conditions permit. I would
have liked that this reparation could
have already been carried out, but it is
evident that the trial must first take
place, whose date I wish will be set as
early as possible.
To my creditors I ask they not lose
their confidence, that they not fall
into the trap to bring more charges
against us, which will further delay the
process; that today more than ever, I
need your support and consideration,
because all this injustice has been a
true ordeal, that thanks to the strength
of God I have been able to bear. All
the persons that have been
collaborating, trying to get the
mistaken ones to correct their error and
withdraw their accusations, have a
special place in my heart; they have
trusted in me and that cannot be
forgotten. My gratefulness and that of
my family to these people, will be for
always.
I am interested that this accusation has
the earliest possible trial date and
rather that we all collaborate to this
end, and I have faith that at trial,
truth and justice will shine through.
To all the creditors who continue to
believe in me and to their respectable
families, I send you the commitment to
honor the obligations when the
circumstances permit, and the greatest
respect and appreciation.
