LEV Request
On the 14th of October Roger Gilder
posted a message, alleged to be from
LEV, on his "Villalobos Report" website.
This is the same person who posted on
his website on August 24th that the UCCR
was "dead and buried" - a contention
that we debunked in an EBS message on
September 1st. A number of you have
asked for our opinion about the
authenticity of the more recent posting
on October 14th. Is it really from
Enrique? Our reply has to be "yes",
because we received the same message
except in its original Spanish. Despite
the fact that Roger would lead you to
believe that he has exclusive rights to
information from Enrique, that is not
the case. The truth is that he has
managed to convince LEV that they share
the same religious convictions.
The translation posted by Roger is
reasonably faithful to the original. LEV
is asking that we allow him to use our
websites as a platform for him to speak
with investors about spiritual matters
of importance to him. He avoids mention
of anything having to do with plans he
may have for the future. That is one
reason why we have hesitated to
publicize this. In a recent
communication to us he reminded us that
since the start of this he has written
to us at least seven times concerning
his intentions with respect to the money
he owes and his inability to access his
foreign accounts. There can be no doubt
that LEV depends upon his strong faith
to sustain him through this long
ordeal. It also makes sense that he
would seek divine justice rather than
rely further on the Costa Rican judicial
system.
What is not so clear to us is the
reason behind the efforts of Roger
Gilder to discredit the work of the UCCR
and to attack the character of its Board
members. It would be expected for him to
promote the initiative he has partnered
with JMV, but to demean the integrity of
others does not, in our opinion, help
his cause. We have evidence to prove
that he will not hesitate to totally
distort the truth; and we have received
forwarded e-mails from investors who
chose to question the details of his
plan and were stunned to find themselves
vilified in his replies. (Some of the
language used by Roger is appalling when
he attempts to stifle disagreement.)
None of what we have stated here should
be interpreted as a judgment of the
merits of Roger's plan - just his
behavior. We know little or nothing of
the plan's details and we would be the
first to congratulate JMV if he can
succeed in helping investors recover
their money. That is our goal as well.
What you should take from this message
is that the UCCR has decided to no
longer allow the false accusations of
Roger Gilder to go unanswered.

P.S. Many of you have wondered how
your e-mail addresses were obtained. You
need only recall that several years ago,
prior to the Oswaldo trial, a website
was created for the purpose of having
investors update their information.
Although the UCCR was not involved, the
site was approved by LEV. We believe
that Roger Gilder provided technical
assistance and served as the site
administrator. |
