We would like to update
you on the most recent information.
The High Court decision of March 31 in
favor of the defense, ordering the
Tribunal to immediately set a date for
trial, has not yet been officially
received by that Tribunal. We recall
that the defense had recently petitioned
the lower court to comply with that
order, but without anyone held in
detention, the order does not take
precedence and must wait its turn along
with the thousands of other decisions
made by the higher court of Costa Rica
each month.
On the brighter side, if there is one,
we can confirm that the written decision
has been completed by the Constitutional
Court and is now in process of final
review and signature by all seven
magistrates. However, it can remain in
this process for several weeks, and the
defense is doing what it can to move
this along.
So, back to square one on this one, but
as before, once that order is received
by the Tribunal, a court date is
expected promptly.
Plodding along, as usual.
Until next time.
Thank you.
